Berry Update

Just want to let you all know that the Drosophila Fruit Fly has set into the summer raspberries. Right now, if you want to come to pick and be very careful and selective, there are berries that have not been infested yet, and you can have them for nothing. Just bring your own containers.
We still have blueberries to pick and the fly has never gotten into them. They are too busy reproducing in the raspberries:(. We get $4.00 for a quart of blueberries and we furnish the containers. We are still maintaining 9:00 – 5:00 Monday – Saturdays for hours during picking season.
Strawberries will be starting a little earlier than other years. I will announce that when it happens.
Grapes will still be the first week of September as far as we can guess at this time.
John is still attending all 3 markets:
Tuesdays – Franklin Arts Center – Brainerd
Thursdays – Nisswa Farmers Market (American Legion Parking Lot) – Nisswa
Friday – Viking Land Harley Davidson Parking Lot – Baxter
Hours for all markets 8:00-12:30
He has been taking our fresh lettuce, tomatoes, daikon radishes, cucumbers, garlic, green beans, snap peas, bell peppers, jams and jellies and piccalilli so far. Won’t be long and snap peas and kohlrabi will be added to the list. We will also have garlic bulbs available soon.
Don’t forget to get your orders in for canning tomatoes for canning season. We are still growing and offering our heirloom tomatoes.
